Audrehem
Situated in the Parc Naturel des Caps et Marais d’Opale, this peaceful village has a church with three naves, dating from the 15th and 17th centuries, which is well worth visiting..
In the heart of the village, only a few steps away from the church, you can take a refreshing break in a traditional French bar. Follow the little winding roads to discover Fouquesolles, a beautiful house, as well as the Manoir de la Motte where Arnaud d’Audrehem was born, who became a Marshal of France in 1352, and who was a companion of Du Guesclin. This village was also the home town of Mgr Rappe, the first bishop of Cleveland (USA). A path, starting next to the salle des fêtes and with its route marked, will lead you to discover chalk slopes. With its excellent views, its well-protected plant life and the river Hem meandering across the fields, Audrehem is a good place to relax – an ideal place to recharge your batteries!.
