Balinghem
Between Ardres and Guines, on the site of the Field of the Cloth of Gold, discover the plaque to commemorate the meeting between Henry VIII of England and François I of France on 7 June 1520. The church, restored in 1704, contains a Romanesque font and a very beautiful altar piece dating from the 17th century, which came from the Chapelle des Carmes in Ardres. The chapel dedicated to Notre-Dame de Lourdes is near the Massabielle grotto (1947-1954), dug in the middle of an old feudal mound. |
